Amee Philips, an internationally renowned Jewellery Designer, had an Exclusive Jewellery Sale and Charity Auction at the Indulgence Restaurant in Ipoh on 7th September 2014. Charity being on her mind, she had requested Dato’ Chong Phaik Kee, PerakState’s Director of Welfare Services, to nominate a Non Government Organisation to benefit from the Charity Auction. So Perak Palliative Care Society (PPCS) was nominated. This nomination was supported by Y.B. Dato’ Dr. Mah Hang Soon, The Perak State Government’sEXCO in-charge of Public Transport, Health, Non Muslim Affairs and NewVillages,who was the Guest of Honour for the function.
After official launch of the function, invited Guests were given a lecture on Gems. The guests began to gather around the displayed exclusive jewelleries designed by Amee Philips. There were 9 models showing off various jewelleries throughout the function. Special Western Lunch was served for the guests. There was also a press conference where Y. B. Dato’ Dr. Mah hoped more such auctions be held by Amee Philips and other organisations to help NGOs which are are providing charitable services to the community.
Amee Philips has donated 3 pieces of jewelleries for the Charity Auction. All of these were auctioned off at RM21,500. To add to this Y.B. Dato’ Dr. Mah Hang Soon, pledged a donation of RM5000 from the Perak State Government to PPCS.
PPCS wishes to thank Registrar Of Societies Perak Director, Mrs. Amirthavalli A.V. Muthiah, Dato’ Chong Phaik Kee, Y.B. Mah Hang Soon and Amee Philips for these generous contributions that will undoubtedly be a great use infurtherance of PPCS objectives that is to make available palliative care topeople who need it irrespective of race and religion, by preventing and relieving symptoms so that the patients with life-limiting illnesses can get on with daily life.
